New Milton Independent school, Ballard, has won the School Music Award at the Education Business Awards 2017.
Placing music at the heart of school life, Ballard has recently been presented with a prestigious award at the Education Business Awards ceremony in London. Welcoming schools from across the UK, the awards recognised excellence in school management across primary and secondary education. This year Stephen Drew from the reality TV show Educating Essex presented the awards.
Ballard received the new accolade following their teacher’s individual commitment to making music both fun and fulfilling.
Offering Classical and Contemporary pathways to pupils, Ballard have an extensive ensemble programme, lunchtime recitals, regular concerts and large musical productions. The School also enjoys stretching young musicians with new repertoires and experiences, encouraging them to succeed.
Ballard School has achieved several other awards in the last year. These include the Independent School Association Award for Excellence in Art 2016/17 and the ISM (Independent Society of Musicians) Bronze Award 2017. Senior musicians from Ballard School are also travelling to Barcelona in the holidays for a musical tour of the region.

At Ballard, we have a wealth of activities and performance opportunities for students in our Music School and purpose built Performing Arts Centre. This gives pupils the opportunity to experience the enriching, rewarding and lifelong benefits of Music, promoting academic success in the subject.”
