Dr Pamela Edmonds to join Parsons Green Prep as new Head in September
Parsons Green Prep have now announced that Dr Pamela Edmonds will be joining as the new Head of the school in September 2022.
Dr Edmonds is currently an ISA Member at The Hampshire School Chelsea, where her all-encompassing approach to pupils’ personal development and promotion of the highest standards of teaching and learning, from Early Years through to the transition to senior school, have led to national recognition, including a nomination for ISA Junior School of the Year 2019.
Dr Edmonds is also a member of the Independent Schools Inspectorate Educational Advisory Forum and a team inspector. Previously, Dr Edmonds was Head of St Cedd’s School, a 3-11 Choir Association school with an outstanding track record of grammar school places and academic, sport and music scholarships to top schools.
She gained her undergraduate teaching degree reading mathematics and Physical Education, later graduating with an MEd in Educational Management and Doctorate of Education (EdD).

As Director of Studies and Head of Boarding at Holmwood House Prep School, she was responsible for the welfare of boarders, the academic profile of the school, taught mathematics through to Common Entrance and coached the netball teams to success in tournaments.
Dr Edmonds was Head of Mathematics at Queens Gate School in London in the 1980s and has knowledge of first-class educational practice from around the world, with senior management experience in top 3-18 international schools in Tokyo, Singapore and Bangkok.
Fundamental to Dr Edmonds’s approach to education is the conviction that all children must be supported with the very best pastoral care system to enable them to flourish personally and excel academically.
She encourages children to balance the breadth of their academic studies with passions beyond the classroom. Her commitment to enabling pupils to meet the challenges of life is evident through her promotion of STEAM and passion for a personalised curriculum that provides challenge and fosters articulate, confident, independent-thinking children, equipped with the strength of character and resilience for success.

Dr Edmonds, a keen bridge player who can occasionally be seen jogging from Kew to Hammersmith, embraces challenge as someone that has faced the task of climbing Mount Fuji and competed in the Channel Yacht Race in 1985.
Dr Edmonds is ‘excited’ by the prospect of leading Parsons Green Prep, a school that ‘resonate’ with her own values:
“I am incredibly excited and honoured to be appointed as the next Head of Parsons Green Prep.
“The warmth of welcome and family ethos, underpinned by a deep-rooted culture of care and drive for academic excellence, resonate with my own values.
“I look forward to getting to know the children, staff and parents in the months ahead. Parsons Green Prep has an exciting future ahead and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
This marks yet another exciting development for Parsons Green Prep, who revamped their facilities at the start of the academic year when they opened a new Reception classroom and STEAM room.
The new Reception classroom provides the ideal environment for children to start their life at school, with a perfect blend of the open space needed to allow the kids the freedom to explore and create as well as the stack of resources needed to start developing their skills.
A dedicated STEAM room is another statement from Principal Tim Cannell and the Parsons Green Prep team that embraces building a lasting interest in STEAM subjects through creative provision.

This particular move builds on the platform that Parsons Green Prep are building to become a major STEAM school, having been recognised for their Outstanding Provision in STEM with an ISA Awards back in 2016.
The developments have also opened up other areas of the school to be transformed… A former classroom has now been converted to a library. Offering a homely space for students of all ages to read whatever they find interesting.
The original building that houses Parsons Green Prep was crafted in the late 1840’s and became the home of Eridge House School in 2001, before the name was changed to Parsons Green Prep in 2014.
Parsons Green Prep sits in the heart of Fulham and nurtures both boys and girls from the ages of four to 11.
