Big plans for The Park School as they purchase former Chilton Cantelo

The Park School are delighted to announce the news that we have entered into an agreement to purchase the former Chilton Cantelo School. They have worked hard to agree very favourable terms to secure the site for The Park School – giving them the benefit of 27 acres of lawns, parkland and playing fields with a lovely Grade II listed house. Jane Huntington, Head of The Park School, confirms “This is an extremely exciting and positive development for the future of The Park School.” From September 2017 the Chilton Cantelo site will house the Junior and Middle School with pupils in Years’ 9 -11 and Sixth Form remaining at their current Yeovil site which will be The Park School’s Senior School campus. From September 2017 home for the boarders will be the modern, purpose built boarding house located at Chilton Cantelo; their school buses providing safe transfer between sites. Both Junior and Senior pupils will benefit from the new sports facilities and pitches. The parkland setting and age-specific play areas at Chilton Cantelo will give the Junior and Middle School pupils much more space and fresh air in which to play. It will also enable them to develop outdoor education and a Forest School, both hugely valuable educationally for this age group. Parents will be able to drop off and pick up their children at whichever site is more convenient as transport between the two sites will be arranged. In the current uncertain financial world in which we find ourselves The Park School aims to deliver a high quality affordable education providing a real world alternative to large state school academies and high-priced independent schools.
