In a series of interactive workshops, this course will use positive psychology - the science of optimal human functioning - to explore how humans can cultivate lives of deeper contentment, meaningful purpose, and buoyant resilience. You will embark upon a journey that raises questions, provides research, and offers practical tools to bolster a growth mindset, boost wellbeing and elevate motivation. This deep and introspective dive will be tightly anchored to PERMA - the central framework of positive psychology. You will unpack the science of boosting positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishment.
The series will take us on a journey through the following four questions:
Who am I at my best?
Where am I going?
How am I going to get there?
What are some quick wins along the way?
These are simple, but powerful questions, with the potential to change the way you think, the way you feel, and the things you do.
I have enjoyed a 20+ year career working for Powys Local Authority in a variety of roles from front line work with young people in schools through to management and specialism in Youth Homelessness strategy. In 2019, following my own experience of burnout and chronic ill health, I began a journey to reclaim my physical and mental wellbeing. I partnered with a holistic health and wellness company to help others in a similar position, with a big emphasis on and passion for prevention.
During this time, I met Lisa and was able to delve further into the power of Positive Psychology across different aspects of my work. In co-delivering this incredibly impactful programme it is hugely rewarding to help people from all walks of life make practical steps towards leading their best ones - and for them to be able to share with others in turn - by demonstrating how to harness the science of optimal human functioning.
