With budgets becoming ever tighter and educational needs ever more present, the landscape is far too complex and filled with paperwork and time-consuming tasks that do little to improve the outcomes of our most vulnerable young people.
Ideal for Independent School SENDCos - specifically those schools not on the Section 41 list - this course will cover how to run 45-minute EHC annual reviews, the laws that protect and guarantee funding, dispelling unlawful myths about parental contributions and much more.
Chris is a passionate educator and has been at Kimichi School since September 2016 where he joined as Year 6 English and Maths teacher. Becoming Deputy Head in 2017 and SENDCo in 2019, Chris has firmly helped shape and mould the school under the leadership of founder and Head Teacher of Sally Alexander MBE (Services to Education).
Responsibilities across the school include Curriculum, Personal Development and specifically English. As SENDCo, Chris is committed to ensuring that all students have parity of access to the Kimichi Curriculum and that no ‘SEND’ should inhibit the individual success of each child.
Committed to his own development, Chris is studying for an MA in Educational Leadership with Coventry University as well as Chartered Manager Status with the Chartered Management Institute.
Chris was made a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts in March 2016, named Teacher of the Year in the 2022 Education Awards and was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching in January 2023 in recognition of his significant and sustained contribution to the teaching profession.
