Wendy has been in education for over 35 years working her way up from classroom teacher through various middle manager roles to senior management and eventually headship. She has worked in both the state sector and the independent sector; she has a wealth of experience in boarding and all-through schools and has led both the academic and pastoral provision in schools. She was head at an all-through, co-ed, independent boarding school before retiring from headship in 2021. For the last 18 years she has also been a schools inspector, inspecting for both Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate.(ISI)
She now supports schools as an educational consultant whilst continuing to inspect both state and independent schools. Her consultancy CV is extremely varied. She has supported leadership teams through school improvement, with a focus on becoming ‘inspection healthy’. She has conducted independent appraisals of senior leaders and led disciplinary panels. She has conducted school audits on a number of areas to evaluate the effectiveness of school processes. She has led INSET training and spoken at national conferences on a range of educational topics.
