Shakespeare Monologue Competition
The Shakespeare Monologue Competition invites students to immerse themselves in the realm of Shakespearean drama, showcasing their acting skills through compelling monologues. Students have the unique chance to create their own Shakespeare-inspired monologues or choose an existing one.
The competition this year is judge by Eloise Secker: "I’m an actor and theatre practitioner based in Stratford-upon-Avon. I trained at Rose Bruford Drama School where I gained a First Class Honours Degree in Actor Musicianship in 2009. Since then, I’ve worked as an actor in TV, theatre and radio working for companies like The Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and the BBC. I’ve also spent the last ten years working as an education practitioner at different organisations across the UK, including Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust where I have delivered talks, workshops and sessions for students of all ages.. At the RSC, I’ve delivered hundreds of workshops for young people and educators, and have worked as an associate director and director mentor for the Next Generation company. As well as working at the theatre itself, I’ve worked for the RSC internationally (in China, Japan, Australia and the US).
I’m really looking forward to watching your different interpretations of these fantastic monologues and finding out a bit more about you too! Break a leg!"
This competition is now closed for entries. Results will be announced W/C 17 March
